What is galvanized sheet?
Galvanized sheet is one of the widely used materials in the manufacturing industry. It is a steel sheet which is coated with a layer of metallic zinc on its surface to prevent it from getting corroded. This layer of zinc also enhances the steel sheet's durability and ensures its longevity. The galvanized sheet is commonly used in various applications such as household appliances shells, civil chimneys, kitchen utensils, and many more. The zinc coating on the steel sheet acts as a protective shield against external factors that might damage it. Thus, the galvanized sheet is an ideal choice for ensuring the product's longevity and maintaining its aesthetic appeal.
The fiber laser cutting machine is highly effective when it comes to cutting galvanized sheets. Its versatility allows it to work with both organic and inorganic materials. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications in industrial manufacturing systems. Regardless of the hardness of the metal, the fiber laser cutting machine can effectively cut through various metal materials commonly used in manufacturing processes. It has no issues when it comes to cutting copper, aluminum, or their alloy plates. This assurance ensures that users can confidently rely on the fiber laser cutting machine to handle galvanized sheets.
To effectively cut galvanized sheet using a fiber laser cutting machine, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the fiber laser cutting machine is set up and ready for operation. This includes checking the power supply, aligning the mirrors, and calibrating the focus of the laser beam.
2. Assess the galvanized sheet and determine the desired cutting parameters. Consider the thickness of the sheet, the required cutting speed, and the laser power needed for efficient cutting.
3. Place the galvanized sheet onto the cutting bed of the machine, ensuring it is secure and positioned correctly.
4. Set the cutting parameters on the machine's control panel. Adjust the laser power, cutting speed, and any other relevant settings based on the specifics of the galvanized sheet.
5. Execute a test cut on a small section of the galvanized sheet to verify that the cutting parameters are appropriate. Make any necessary adjustments to achieve optimal results.
6. Once satisfied with the test cut, proceed to cut the entire galvanized sheet. Activate the cutting process, ensuring that the machine is properly ventilated and any required safety measures are in place.
7. Monitor the cutting progress to ensure smooth and accurate cutting. Check for any signs of defects or inconsistencies and troubleshoot or adjust the cutting parameters accordingly if needed.
8. Once the cutting process is complete, inspect the cut edges for quality. Remove any burrs or sharp edges using appropriate tools if necessary.
9. Safely remove the cut galvanized sheet from the machine's cutting bed.
Remember to follow all safety guidelines and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when operating the fiber laser cutting machine to ensure a safe working environment.
When cutting galvanized sheet, the addition of auxiliary gas is critical. The purity and pressure of the auxiliary gas will determine the quality of the cut sheet section. Cutting with oxygen requires a purity level of at least 99.6%. Higher oxygen purity will result in a smoother, better quality cut, but at an increased cutting cost. Using nitrogen as the auxiliary gas requires a purity level of at least 99.5%. Nitrogen resists oxidation, and higher purity will prevent oxidation in the cut seam of the galvanized sheet. This will ensure that the color of the cut seam edge does not change.
